The latest UK Lotto winners who are a married couple, didn’t realize that they were the winners and had the ticket on their person for a whole week, walking around without knowing. Donna and David Stickley from Slough became the 5,000th National Lottery jackpot winners after winning the May 12th draw that was worth £21 Million after rollover. Donna plays on a regular basis each and every week.
Donna, 7 days after the draw, went to check her ticket at the shop and was told by the shop owner that the prize was over £500 and that she should phone Camelot. After calling Camelot Donna found out about the jackpot win and called up David. “She said she’d been told to contact Camelot by the shop because we had won some money. She said ‘I’ve checked on the internet and I think we may have won £2 million but it just doesn’t look right’.
“I told her to go and double check again as things like this don’t happen to people like us. She sent me a text with the amount on it from the internet but she had read the amount wrong – it wasn’t £2 million, it was £21 million.” He continued: “Not knowing what to do as I was in the middle of a shift, I called and told her to put it somewhere safe so we could deal with it later. “I suggested maybe she could go shopping or do something to take her mind off it – she was all over the place and I thought it may distract her until I finished work and we could decide what to do next. “The rest is history.”
The couple, currently have no children and plan to use the money for many things such as taking care of their parents and paying of debt and buying a new kitchen. They also may buy a new car and are still trying to figure out what to do with all of the money.
